I cannot believe that I am someone that has to post a prayer request like this....however, we just found out on Tuesday that my mom has cancer. You never truly think that it will happen to someone that you know, let alone your own mother. She was having a routine surgery to remove what they thought was a fibroid tumor that actually are very common in women and are non-cancerous. But, once they got in there, they realized it indeed was cancer and it had spread to several areas. Everyone I could contact at the time began to pray and during the surgery the doctor was able to remove 90% of this tumor. I don't know how he did it, other than with God's help, because it was attached to several things. Now we wait. We have to wait until sometime next week to find out what type of cancer she has, so that the doctors will know the best route to treat what is left, and make sure it is completely out of her system. They are pretty sure it will be chemo, but they can't be sure until they have answers. Right now she is recovering from MAJOR surgery, and for someone that has never been in the hospital in her entire life (accept when she was born), this is a whole new world for her. She doesn't know what to expect. Considering what she has just been through, and what she is about to face, she is doing remarkably well. She is very strong in her faith, so I know she is clinging to God right now and has faith that His will will be done. The good thing is that the doctors are very positive right now, so we are very hopeful that she is going to beat this, and come out "good as new". I appreciate any prayers that you can send up for her, and will update as I know anything new.
Thanks for reading and for the prayers.

OMG Jamie........I have tears welling in my eyes reading your post....probably because the wounds of thinking of my mom was on her way out are so raw still.....
Who is her Dr. What does Aaron think about all this since he is a Dr.? I will pray for you, for your family, for your mom, and for the Drs taking care of her! I will even pray right now "outloud"
Dear God......I know I haven't prayed in awhile....please God hear me cry out to you in this time of great need. God, PLEASE be with Jamie and her family in this time of need, PLEASE give them strength and courage when they feel weak. I pray especially for Jamies mom--please carry her through this and give her the kind of strength that can only come from you. God....you are almighty and I know you can fully cure Jamies mom. Please lay your healing hands upon this God loving woman. I pray for the doctors in charge of her care, that you guide their hands and minds. In Jesus's name I pray, Amen.
Thank you so much for that wonderful prayer. we know God is listening to all of us, and have faith that God will answer our cries. It's hard just waiting to find out what the next step is, but the doctor asked us to be patient in order to give the pathologists time to really look this case over and figure out what we are dealing with. She truly is in the best hands possible at Munson. Aaron and I are both very happy with her care and have complete faith in the doctors she has. One is my OBGYN that delivered 2 of our children and the other is a Gyn. Oncologist that is excellent. He is 1 of only 7 in that specialty in the entire country, so he is good. Aaron's dad thinks very highly of him as well. We will have answers in just a few days, so we are just hangin' in there. Thanks again for the prayers and for the post on your blog. I really appreciate it.
