The results are in...
My mom has been diagnosed with Ovarian cancer. The doctor sounds very confident that he can get rid of it completely; so, we are all trying to stay very positive. He wants to start on chemo right away so that it does not spread any farther. Now we move on to the next step and deal with whatever side effects may or may not come from the treatments. We hope she will tolerate it well. Please keep her in your prayers, that she may do well in the treatments and if it is the Lord's will, that she would be healed. Thank you all for your concern. I greatly appreciate it.

I hope your mom is seeing a gynecological oncologist. They are the experts in women's cancers, and offer the best chance of survival.
Also, send your mom over to
hystersisters.com
They have a cancer concerns area as well, and many of us with cancer share valuable information there.

Thank you so much for the info and website! Yes, she is seeing a gyn oncologist. He is one of the best, so she is in very good hands. Thank God!! My mom actually doesn't have internet access, but I will check it out for her. Thanks again! So, I am guessing that you have cancer as well? May I ask what kind? Is it responding to treatment?
Hi Jamie
I am going through chemo now, for ovarian cancer IIIC. Not sure if its responding or not. They won't do scans or anything until chemo is done. So there is a lot of patience and waiting involved! :)
Best to you and your mom.

Nat -
Have you had any side effects from the chemo? That is the main thing my mom is worried about right now. I know that everyone responds differently. I hate seeing her go through this. I really appreciate you sharing your story with me. This is something that my family has never experienced before, so this is all new to us. Thanks again, and I will keep you in my prayers. ;o)
Hi jamie
my blog is
what-meworry.blogspot.com
I think I discuss some side effects there.
I have been having side effects - mostly bone and joint pain, flu-like feeling, mild nausea (no vomiting), and a general yucky feeling! However, chemo is very do-able. The side effects weren't too bad, until now (towards the end of my treatment). They are cumulative, so each time they get a little worse (for me)!
Everyone is very different, and reacts differently to chemo. We make our way through it though! Your mom will too!
Jamie--
So cool to see someone connected here with you. My thoughts are prayers are continually with you, your family, and your mom and dad. Love always, me
