Sorry for the long time between updates.
We traveled home this past weekend to visit our families. I spent most of Saturday with my parents. My mom slept most of the time I was there. Last week she started having this horrible pain in her leg. The doctor's have not tried to figure out why she is having such pain. They say it is probably due to the fact that he had to dig around her hip during the initial surgery to remove the tumor. But, it's just now starting to hurt really bad. She is on 2 different narcotics for this pain because it's so bad, and she can hardly walk. So, she just lays in the chair all day. She is very thin, pail, and tired looking. On Sunday, we were supposed to go over there to do presents with my parents, but they decided they should be a little more careful with it being flu season and thought it was better to not have all the kids over. They felt really bad, but we totally understood. So, the hubby and I went by to pick up the presents and ended up staying to chat with my parents for 2 hours! this never happens. It was so nice to just sit and talk to them, and my mom was actually feeling pretty good. She had gotten up to get dressed in preperation for us coming over and so she was up and moving. Still not walking well, but she had at least gotten up a few times that day. That makes such a huge difference! They actually might come and see us this weekend so that my dad can help dh wire the basement for the boys' room down there. My dad really wants my mom to get out of the house for a while. We all know it will do her some good. We just have to wait and see how her white cell count is on Friday after her blood draw. We really hope they can come, it would be so nice. During my stay on Saturday, my dad and I discussed the possibility of checking out some other cancer centers in the state. We want to make sure she is getting the best possible care. They have found a couple more tumors during this whole process and it really makes us worried. We also have not been told what stage she is in, and that really bothers me. My parents may have just not heard what he said because that is a lot of info to take in all at once. I have been doing some research on ovarian cancer to learn and little more about it, and hopefully I can help my dad to make some important decisions. We just want what is best for my mom. This is a road that none of us have ever been down before and it is very scary. We are trying to just take it one step at a time and deal with the new things thrown at us when they come. With God's help, we WILL get through this...no matter what happens.
As for my grandma.....I visited her on Sunday right before we headed home and she is doing ok. She ended up with Pneumonia, and is now recovering from that. The problem is, since her lungs are so damaged from years of smoking, they don't think she could withstand the surgery. So, we are not sure what is going to happen with her at this point. She NEEDS to have that surgery, but the doctors can't do it when she is in such poor health. She only weighs 90 pounds (barely), and refuses to eat the food they are giving her because the salt isn't right or she doesn't like what they brought her. She is a typical grouchy old lady. ;o) I will hopefully know more about her this week. It's kind of up in the air right now. they had to wait until the Pneumonia cleared up before they could make a final decision on her lungs.
Thanks for all the prayers for my family. Oh, one more....my grandma's nephew is also in the hospital just down the hall w/ congestive heart failure. They removed 50 pounds of fluid from around his heart. can you even imagine?? So, it's like a family reunion at the hospital right now. He went in last thursday. please remember all of us in your prayers, this has been quite a start to the new year.
I will update soon!

Your mom---I have seen a cancer treatment place advertised on TV....I don't know much about it, just they "claim" to be the best. That is SO scary that found more tumors. Doesn't sound like they gave her much info. I'm glad you guys were able to sit and talk. What does your hubby say about all this......since he is a Dr.?
Your Grandma--HA, I just have to laugh, I can envision it......my mom is a lot like that!--I'm referring to the typical grouchy old lady LOL. What will happen if she doesn't have the surgery? How is she feeling about your mom's situation?
Your nephew--WTH! What is WRONG with your family Jamie! SHEESH! 50 POUNDS of fluid---that is CRAZY! What is the cause? How did they find out? SHEESH.
I always feel like crap whining on my blog after I read all the serious crap your family is facing. How is your pregnancy?
Much love, hugs and prayers.
