Good News...

Well, I saw my parents on Saturday and that was really nice. We had lunch together and then we all headed back home. It was a short visit, but nice to see them and talk with them. So, the docs were thinking of putting her through radiation for this new spot that has started on her bone. Well, they actually were kind of skeptical about doing that, and because of her developing this new spot, she was dropped from the research program she was in that had the really good drug for her. So, since her doc really didn't want to put her into radiation (due to where her other tumors are), he decided to check with the insurance and see if they would cover this research drug so that she could just get it w/out being in the study. This med is around $18,000/month, or some crazy number like that. Unbelievably, the insurance has approved it!!! so, she will now be getting this awesome drug for sure. We hope and pray that it works! That's all I know for now other than that she is having her 3rd round of chemo (finally) this Friday. Please keep her in your prayers. Also, there is another blogger that is going through what my mom is going through and really needs your prayers as well. They found something new and they aren't sure what it is yet. She is through her chemo already, and was just waiting to get the "all clear" from the doc, and that has not happened yet. she is now awaiting results as to what this new mass could be, hoping it is not more cancer. Please remember her as well.

Thanks!! I will update as I know more.

That is GREAT you got to have a good time with your parents! That is also insanely great that her insurance approved the 18,0000 drug....good thing she has insurance. This is exactly the reason I feel everyone should be covered! Do they know exactly what the spot by her bone?
Man.......just read Nan's blog. Life is NOT FAIR, that just isn't right at all. She is way stronger than I could ever be.

Wow - thank you SO MUCH for thinking of me too. Your post made me cry. I really appreciate the extra prayers.

I am so glad that the insurance approved that drug for your mom!
Dealing with insurance companies is often such a hassle - I'm so glad she didn't get tangled up in red tape! I hope that this drug works wonders, and gets rid of her 'spots'.

There is no news for me yet - I'll be sure to post once I know what's happening!

Take care - I'll continue to pray for you and your mom.

Oh - I am glad to hear that the pregnancy is going well too :) You are the wonder woman!!
