WOW!

That is all I can say about this next class that starts on Tuesday. The class is Adult Development. My professor is very hardcore. He's actually a Doctor of Psychology (which I am actually considering for myself, but we will see). Before class has even started, he has posted 7 pages of notes about the class. I have already started reading our first chapter, and in the 15 pages that I have read, I think I have an equal amount of notes that I wrote. I have to read 2 chapters of this book, 1 of another and post a response about them by Thursday. This Prof. likes VERY thorough answers as well. Luckily, I had already been doing that in the last class. A lot of students didn't. I'm so glad that I am already used to writing a very thorough posting on the topic we are discussing. I am praying that I can live up to his expectations for his students. It is my goal to get an "A" in every class. From the sounds of it, no one gets a 4 point from him. so, just as long as I get the highest I can, I will be happy. It's going to be hard for me to not see that 4 point, but, I will deal with it. He says the reason we should not expect perfect scores, is because no one is perfect. Which is true, so I guess I can live with that.

I am a little ticked off about one of my books I ordered though. I had ordered it through the website www.textbookx.com (this is a correction to my original posting). Never again will I order from them. I ordered it last Monday. I'm sure you can guess WHY I ordered it from somewhere other than the school. Any guesses???? You got it!! I'm cheap! I was saving 12.00 on it including shipping. I just receieved an e-mail TODAY (2 days before class starts) that they have canceled my order due to the book being out of stock. Meanwhile, I ordered my other book I needed, through the school. I ordered it the same day and it was here by Wednesday. I guess sometimes you have to just bite the bullet and pay full price. ;o) Lesson learned!

Well, wish me luck in this class! I'm going to need it!!!

I'll keep you all posted on my progress!

Hey, this is Jeff, the owner of bigwords.com. I'm really sorry to hear about your experience. I hope your readers know that bigwords is a price comparison site and you didn't actually order from us. that being said, if you'll tell me which site gave you the problem, it will help us a lot. You see, we only allow the very best textbook sellers on bigwords. so if there's a merchant that takes 6 days to tell you they don't have the book, that's a big problem for you, us, and the merchant. Just email me back and let me know what site you ordered from.

thanks,
jeff

WOW--how did this Jeff know about your blog. I never order books through the school either. I try to find ahead of time what the books that are required will be and then order them online. Textbooks are INSANE--SHEESH, gets to be almost as expensive as tuition. Good luck Jamie--just expect the best you can do--that is all you can ask for no matter what grade is given and remember it is just a grade. I know you will give it your best! :)
